UK, kate jaden Ran 100 marathons in 100 days. The young woman wanted to highlight the plight of Syrian refugees.
With a very damaged knee and lower back pain, Kate Jaden has finally crossed the finish line. The 35-year-old British athlete completed her 100th marathon on Sunday 10 April. Last January, she set herself a challenge: to complete a marathon in one day to cover a total distance of more than 4,000 kilometers. ,I think I’ve been asked many times, ‘Have you ever thought about throwing in the towel?’ Really, how could I have dared to do that? Because a refugee covers this distance in real life, in horrifying circumstances“, explains Kate Jaden.
Indeed, with this world record, the athlete wanted to draw attention to the plight of Syrian refugees. The kilometer traveled corresponds to the distance between the cities of Aleppo, Syria and Dover, England. Kate Jaden has collected around 30,000 euros, which she will donate to refugees. ,Never let anyone say it sucks, because many times people have said, ‘You won’t change anything’, but you really can.“, says the Briton.
