Alstom and Eversholt Rail, the British owner and financier of rolling stock, have announced a Memorandum of Understanding to supply Britain’s first fleet of hydrogen trains. The two industrial groups decided to work jointly, to share the technical and commercial information needed for Alstom, ten hydrogen hybrid trains with three carriages (HMU, the English abbreviation for “Hydrogen Multiple Units”). Required to design, build, commission and maintain the fleet. , which will be built by Alstom in Great Britain. The new hybrid trainsets are built on the latest advancements in the Alstom Aventra platform. The signing of definitive contracts for the purchase of the fleet is expected by early 2022.
