Inter Milan forward Alexis Sanchez has admitted he asked his agent if he could leave Manchester United and return to Arsenal at the end of his first training session.

“Sometimes there are some things you don’t understand until you get there and remember my first training session, I understand a lot of things.

Sanchez endured a tough two-year match at Manchester

“I sat at home and at the end of the session I said to my family and my agent, ‘How can you not end the contract to return to Arsenal?’ They laughed and said, I told them something wasn’t right, so it didn’t feel good.

“But I’ve already signed, I’ve already been there. After the first few months I maintained the same feeling, we didn’t become one as a team at that moment.”

Sanchez arrived at United in the January 2018 transfer window with big expectations on his shoulders, more so after becoming the club’s top-earner, and he feels he has become a scapegoat for the team’s failure.
