Team Innos continues to build its army of GC riders. Adam Yates (28) will exchange Mitchelton-Scott for the formation of British success next year. He signs a contract for 2 seasons.
Team Enos, who will go through life as the Enos Grenadiers from the beginning of the Tour de France, is one of several successful British classification men, strictly with Adam Yates.
Simon’s twin brother finished fourth in the Tour in 2016 and also won the youth classification. Earlier this season, he also won a stage and final classification at the UAE Tour.
Yates became the next British classification rider to be employed by Enos. British Tour winners Geraint Thomas and Chris Fromm also rode in Dave Brilsford’s squad today, although the latter would defend the colors of the Israeli start-up Nation next year.
Yates: “I want to perform at the Grand Tours with this team”
Yates was delighted with his transfer. “The prospect of riding for the British team is something I’m really excited about. I’ve seen cycling in the UK throughout my career and that’s thanks to the success of British riders in this team.”
“It’s a great opportunity and I think it’s timely. My results in the one-week round and one-day races have always been solid but I want to show regularity in Grand Tours with this team,” Yates concluded .
Team boss Dave Brilsford also gave a satisfied reply. “I’m very happy that Adam is finally joining the team,” Brilsford said. “I think this is the right time, as he is in the best years of his career. We are entering here as a new generation of Inios Grenadiers.”
