The feature film ‘The Accountant’ recently hit TV again, but was released five years ago. Looks like a sequel is finally coming.
The original 2016 film, starring Ben Affleck, centered on autistic yet brilliant accountant Christian Wolff, who runs free bookkeeping for prime criminals from a non-descript CPA office in a small town. As the story progresses, the neat accountant rapidly emerges as a deadly action hero.
The film eventually grossed over $155 million. Barely a year after its release, a sequel was announced, but it went quiet after that. However, director Gavin O’Connor recently confirmed that agreements have now been made to direct the second part.
In part two, the main character’s brother, the equally dangerous Brax (played by Jon Bernthal), gets an even more prominent role. The director also dreams of a trilogy.
You always have to wait and see with sequels, although they are sometimes more than worth watching. Think of the Godfather trilogy or the Jason Bourne series of movies. It was a little different with Parts 2 to 7 of Police Academy. But James Bond can already be seen in part 25 and still isn’t sneezing.
So for now let’s look forward to part two accountant, It is not yet clear when this part will appear. Whether there will be another hilarious book check (fifteen years of administration in one day, with multiple felt-tip pens) remains to be seen…
