Neither of the two women have yet been named.

Police have urged any witnesses and especially those with dash cams to come forward.

The crash took place on A487

Sergeant Emlyn Hughes of the Roads Policing Unit said: “Sadly this is being investigated as a fatal road traffic collision and our thoughts remain with the family of those who died.

“They will now be supported by specially-trained family liaison officers.

“I am urging anybody who may have witnessed the collision, or anybody who was travelling along the A487 just prior to the collision and who may have dash cam footage to come forward.

“We now need to piece together what happened, so anybody who has information that could assist with the investigation is asked to contact us urgently.”
