David Fuller, a resident of Heathfield, East Sussex, has been charged with two counts of murder in connection with the 1987 deaths of Wendy Nell and Caroline Pierce.

He was later remanded in custody to appear in Medway Magistrate’s Court.

Ms Nell, a 25-year-old shop manager, was sexually assaulted and beaten to death in her bed on Guildford Road in Tunbridge, Wales on June 23 after failing to work.

The second victim, also from Tunbridge Wales, was killed five months later after an attack outside his home in Grosvenor Park.

Mrs. Pierce was last seen at midnight on November 24, 1977, when she was dropped off at her home in a taxi.

Screams were heard outside the house and his body was found in the hands of a farm worker on December 15 of that year in a sewer ditch 40 miles from Romney Marsh.
