#Ivory Coast The African Development Bank (AfDB) has been successful in raising the necessary financing for the construction of a highway connecting Cte d’Ivoire to Nigeria through 3 other countries. During this meeting, the President of the All-African Financial Institution explained to the Ivorian President that his institution had been able to raise the $15.6 billion needed to finance the Abidjan–Lagos Highway.
1,081 km long, with 2×3 lanes, this motorway corridor will connect Cte d’Ivoire with Nigeria, crossing Ghana, Togo and Benin.

The realization of this project over a period of 4 to 6 years will boost trade within the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

This, thanks to improved transport efficiencies, improved circulation flows and the exchange of people and goods, established interconnections with major ports along with other transport corridors connecting landlocked countries such as Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger. 5 Corridor countries that handle about 85% of ECOWAS sea freight.
