The sports world makes a good canvas, but individual shots can be lost in constant switching. Here’s a look at this week’s most famous sports photos from Getty Images.

Emma Radocano of the United Kingdom returns against Belinda Bencic of Switzerland in the women’s singles quarterfinals on day 10 of the 2021 US Open at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Aosta in Flushing Borough of Queensboro on September 8, 2021. New York City.

This picture was taken from behind the service line. It is located underground behind a hole in the wall from view of the public. I found that the lighting was perfect for this angle. The background was black and the sun was well positioned to highlight Emma Radukanu. I just needed a good stretch and timed the shot to get the ball on the racket. I also shot in a very shallow depth of field to blur the background and focus only on the Radukanu. This is a shot with which you have to be patient as it can take most or all of the match to get the player in the right position. Luckily, it really magnified and I was able to set the time of the image correctly.

Louis Torrence shocks Abraham Toro of the Seattle Mariners after Toro’s big 4-0 win over the Houston Astros at T-Mobile Park on August 31, 2021 in Seattle, Washington.

It was a completely quiet night until Abraham Toro of the Seattle Mariners scored a big win. When big plays like this happen, team members sometimes shower the star of the game with a Gatorade cooler during post-game interviews. That was exactly the case. Since we confine ourselves to photo pits and not post-game festivities photos, I’ve considered shooting under Toro from my designated location, as players interact with their heads several times while spraying. We do. Another technical element I had to take into account was his face in the shade of his hat. Just before that, the fireworks went off, creating a beautiful haze in the background. It’s always nice to see the team explode.

Here Matilda Castrin and Madeleine Sjögstrom celebrate Team Europe’s victory over the United States in the Solheim Cup. This was my first event, I was new to covering golf competitions that pit countries against each other. The Europeans did well throughout the weekend, maintaining a steady lead and finishing it in the end. He was booked for the trail, surrounded by American fans hoping for a victory for the home side. He literally gave up after the cup party! The defending champions held the Solheim Cup for another year with their country’s flags and dripping champagne.
