Premier League newcomers Fulham are reported to be in talks with Swansea City over the signing of Jordan Ayew.
The Cottagers have made a bid of around £8 million for the Ghanaian forward who was one of the stand out players for Swansea City last season.
Ayew finished as the Swans’ top scorer with 11 goals last season, dramatically improving on his first half a season in South Wales.
The Ghana international, whose brother Andre also plays for the Swans, arrived at SA1 in January 2017 as part of a swap deal with Aston Villa for full-back Neil Taylor.
Initially there were many reservations about his performances as Swansea achieved the great escape.
However, in the season just gone, amid the departures of Gylfi Sigurdsson and Fernando Llorente, Ayew came to the fore to give his team a fighting chance.
Though, it’s a chance they didn’t take and they now find themselves back in the Championship after seven years at the top flight.
Relegation means they will have to part ways with many of their best players – despite appointing a new manager this week in Graham Potter – and Jordan Ayew is seen as one following his impressive season of last.
It’s understood Celtic were also interested in signing the forward, but it’s Fulham who lead the chase with an £8 million bid on the table and talks currently ongoing.
As things stand, Ayew is contracted to the South Wales club until the summer of 2020.
