Cardiff City outcast Adam Le Fondre has today joined Championship rivals Wigan Athletic on a season-long loan.
The Cardiff striker has spent the majority of pre-season with the development squad but was a surprise inclusion on the Cardiff bench for their defeat to former side Reading.
Cardiff were keen to offload Le Fondre, who only has a year remaining on his current deal as they look to reduce the wage bill at the club
The Stockport-born striker has just the one goal to his name in a Cardiff shirt in 21 apprearances. Le Fondre has completed two loan spells during his time in South Wales, with Bolton Wanderers and Wolverhampton Wanderers respectively.
Adam Le Fondre has publicly stated he has been frustrated with his time with Cardiff and that he wants to play for a team further north to be closer to his family, and Wigan certainly fits the bill.
The move leaves Cardiff with just two recognised strikers in Frederic Gounongbe and Kenneth Zohore, although the club are reportedly in talks with Norwich City striker Kyle Lafferty.
