Coworker George Floyd says 'heads hit' at Derek Chauvin nightclub

Years ago before George Floyd and Derek Chauvin’s fatal encounters, they were reported to be “head-on” while working together in a nightclub.

He was once a colleague at El Nuevo Rodeo on Lake Street, south of Minneapolis, Interview with CBS News.

David Pinney tells, “There’s a lot to do with Derek being extremely aggressive with some of his bosses inside the club, which was a problem.

Maya Santamaria, the owner of the club, local outlet told KSTP She said that Floyd and Chauvin coincided with changes in popular music nights last year.

Santamaria said that Chauvin had been waiting outside for 17 years while serving as the neighbor’s “off-duty police,” and Floyd was working.

She also said she wasn’t sure whether Floyd and Chauvin knew each other – but Pinney was confident about what she was doing.

Pinney told CBS, referring to Floyd, that Chauvin said “he knew him … pretty well.”

A former Minneapolis police officer Chauvin was charged with second-degree murder and second-degree murder in Floyd’s 25 May death.

Chauvin was originally charged with third-degree murder, but charges were raised after an attack from Floyd’s family and other fans. Floyd family’s lawyer, Benjamin Crump, has even called first-degree murder charges since he learned that the two were working together.

Before the charges were raised from third-order to second-degree murder, he told CBS News: [Chauvin] He knew who George Floyd was. “
