Cops investigated for reviving Elijah McClain chokehold near monument

A police department in Colorado said on Monday that Elijah McClain is investigating three officers who allegedly revived the stifling maneuver cops used near a monument for him.

Officers are allegedly taking photos in places where McClain was stopped and detained by Aurora Police just before his 2019 death, CBS Denver reportedreferring to sources familiar with the investigation.

Photographs of the police were alleged to have spread to the Aurora Police Department before capturing the wind of the internal investigations department and launching an investigation.

The department’s temporary police chief said late Monday night that all officers in question were suspended for a fee while waiting for an investigation.

“On Thursday afternoon, allegations reported to the Interior by an Aurora Police Officer alleged that multiple Aurora Police officers were depicted in photographs where Elijah McClain was killed,” Vanessa Wilson said in a statement. Said.

“I immediately ordered the Ministry of the Interior to make this investigation the top priority. This accelerated investigation was completed tonight, ”he added.

McClain died after police stopped him in Colorado last August, after someone calling 911 reported he appeared suspicious.

The New York Times detained officers using a choke and called an ambulance.

Responding medics injected him with ketamine, and McClain went to a cardiac arrest on his way to the hospital.

He died days later for “uncertain” reasons.
