Cardiff City are reportedly interested in making a move for Middlesborough’s midfielder Adam Forshaw.
Neil Warnock is believed to be keen to bolster his midfield following the injury to Aron Gunnarsson and Forshaw could well be the answer.
The Bluebirds have struggled in the midfield area in recent weeks, so Forshaw could help to improve upon that and he is certainly a realistic target for Warnock.
According to HITC, the Bluebirds could opt to make a move to sign the Highly-rated midfielder, but whether Middlesbrough would sell to a promotion rival remains to be seen.
Forshaw has made a total of 92 appearances since making the move to the North East outfit in 2015, scoring on two occasions.
He’s also had spells at Brentford and Wigan, as well as making a solo appearance for Premier League outfit Everton.
Forshaw could help Cardiff as they bid for promotion to the Premier, despite going through a sticky patch of late, and have lost four on the bounce during the festive period.
It seems like a sensible mood, especially with the Bluebirds currently lacking depth in the midfield area.
Forshaw has seen his time limited at the Riverside stadium this season, having made just 11 appearances in total, and six of those have come from the substitutes bench.
It would be a good move for the Bluebirds, given Forshaw’s experience in the Championship and he could offer a different element to the Cardiff City midfield.
And with Forshaw’s future still in doubt at the Riverside stadium, it is most certainly a move which could go ahead, and a signing which Cardiff ideally need if they’re to push for promotion this season.
