Cardiff City will take Scottish Championship duo Matthew Knox and Danny Mullen on trial next week.
The Bluebirds are on the lookout for attackers as they look for a source of goals and the two young Scots could offer something to both the First Team and the U23 side.
Sky Sports say the duo are set to join the club next week for a trial with the duration unknown.
Knox, the youngest of the pair has already been subject of interest from Scottish giants Rangers and has already been on trial at Manchester United.
Knox became the clubs youngest ever player to make a first team appearance as he made his debut against St Mirren back on Boxing Day of last year.
The Edinburgh born striker has yet to score a goal at senior level from his seven appearances but made an assist as Livingston recorded a 1-0 victory over Rangers.
He has made appearances for the Scotland U17 side which shows that he could be one for the future should the Bluebirds pursue him.
Due to his age, it is unlikely that he would be thrown in to the deep end of first team football and instead would be a part of the Development side under Jarred Harvey and Andy Legg, with Craig Bellamy overseeing the players development.
The Bluebirds are also tracking Knox’s team-mate Danny Mullen and this is a signing that could be for the first team as Neil Warnock looks to continue his recruitment of players on an affordable budget.
The 22 year-old was an academy product of Aberdeen before moving to Livingston back in 2012 and the forward has not looked back since joining The Lions.
He has almost made 150 appearances for Livingston and has netted 30 times for the club that gave him his chance in professional football.
Mullen signed a new contract with the club back in 2017 which will see his contract expire next year, this could mean that a fee could be nominal.
Neil Alexander who previously played for Cardiff City before had recently joined Livingston and his time at Cardiff City could persuade the duo to swap Scotland for Wales should their trials be successful.
Both Mullen and Knox played in Livingston’s 3-0 loss to Sunderland yesterday. It is unsure whether they will now play a part in their friendly against Partick Thistle on Saturday but the pair could be part of the Cardiff’s pre-season tour of Cornwall.
