Cardiff City have today completed the loan signing of Norwich City winger Yanic Wildschut from Championship rivals Norwich City.
The Dutchman becomes the Bluebirds’ first signing of the January transfer window and he joins on a loan deal which could be made permanent in the summer.
Wildschut joined Norwich City in 2016 for a fee of around £7 million from Wigan Athletic, but it’s understood that fee is now around £4 million with add-on clauses unmet.
The 26-year-old has featured 20 times for Norwich this season, but has only started 14, becoming second choice since the arrival of Daniel Farke.
Neil Warnock has been looking to add strength to his injury-hit squad as the Bluebirds continue to chase promotion and Wildschut will offer an alternative in the front-line.
The former Wigan Athletic winger was a target of Neil Warnock’s last season, but Norwich City’s bid, worth up to £7 million, meant the Bluebirds were priced out.
Wildschut arrives in South Wales this morning and he will be eligible to face Sunderland tomorrow afternoon.
